Candied Walnuts

My husband accidentally bought walnuts instead of pecans for one of our favorite chicken salad recipes, so I found myself with a surplus of walnuts and no use for them! Fast forward months later to last night while watching The Crown, and we both had a hankering for something sweet. So I decided to put those walnuts to good use and whip up this recipe! These candied walnuts were so easy to make and definitely satisfied out sweet tooth. I hope you love them too!



  • 2 cups walnuts
  • 2 Tbsp coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg


Preheat oven to 350º. Lay the walnuts in a single layer on parchment paper on a baking sheet. Bake at 350º for 5-8 minutes or until toasted. Pull walnuts out and set aside. In a small sauce pan, melt coconut oil. Once melted, add the maple syrup, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir ingredients on medium heat until the mixture starts to froth and bubble. Add walnuts and stir until all walnuts are coated with mixture. Pour walnuts back onto the parchment lined baking sheet, spreading them out in a single layer. Allow them to cool and enjoy!
