I have a family member out in California who has been gluten free for years, and she loves Cup 4 Cup’s gluten free flour blend. When she first recommended it, I couldn’t find it at my local grocery stores. Last week, I was shopping and found a gluten free pizza crust mix by Cup 4 Cup and decided to give it a try! IT’S. AMAZING. I don’t know if I’ll ever try another one because this one is so easy, crisp, and delicious!
It’s been so long since I was last able to enjoy pizza. It always just seemed like so much work since I can’t eat gluten, dairy, onion, or garlic! I decided to create a pizza sauce recipe that could be enjoyed by those of us with onion and garlic intolerances. But you don’t have to have any food intolerances to enjoy this pizza recipe (or any of my recipes for that mater)! Below are the ingredients for my pizza sauce as well as step by step instructions for building your own delicious pizza!
One Cup 4 Cup pizza crust package makes two whole pizza crusts, so I divided the dough into two round balls. I used one that evening for our pizza, and the other one I wrapped in plastic wrap and frozen for later use.
We topped our first pizza with my sauce, chopped red bell peppers, fresh spinach leaves, and Daiya mozzarella shreds. It was scrumptious, but my husband wanted our next one to be a little spicier! The first one was definitely my favorite- the sauce is spicy enough for me! The second pizza that we enjoyed later in the week was topped with the sauce, chopped red bell peppers, pepperoni, jalapeños, fresh spinach leaves, and Daiya mozzarella shreds.
- 1 15 oz can organic fire roasted tomatoes
- 2 teaspoons oregano
- 2 teaspoons basil
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon pink himalayan salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon coconut sugar
Other ingredients needed:
- 1 package Cup 4 Cup Gluten Free Pizza Crust mix
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup Daiya Dairy Free Mozzarella Style Shreds
- Other desired pizza toppings
Begin by following all directions for the pizza crust mix. Set dough aside in refrigerator for 30 minutes. Pre-heat oven to 500°F. In a saucepan, combine all pizza sauce ingredients listed above. Heat on medium on stovetop. Set aside.
Pull dough from freezer and roll out into a circle. Fold over edges for crust. Using a fork, punch several holes into the flattened dough. Pour 2 tablespoons of olive oil onto dough and brush all over. Place pizza crust on a cooking sheet in the oven for 8-10 minutes. Pull out when golden brown. Top with sauce and other desired toppings (other than cheese). Place pizza back into the oven for 7 more minutes. Pull pizza out, top with cheese, and put back into oven for 2-3 more minutes. Remove pizza from oven, allow to cool, slice, and enjoy!
